Ruvin Orbach Leads the Way in Comedy

Ruvin Orbach has successfully developed and sold a number of comedies. He has sold the crime comedy “How to Catch a Gangster,” a story about a couple of new college graduates from a small farm that come to New York City to catch an Italian Gangster. He also sold a comedy entitled “Great Sex” about a couple of neurotic New York City couples who try to find love and good sex, at the same time.

Ruvin is currently directing “Big Man,” a comedy in which he wrote. The story centers on a circus in Alabama. The production date is Spring 2008.

Additionally, Ruvin has developed a number of comedies:

“The Royal Scam” – a story set in the Dot Com era that focuses on a Yuppie couple that loses everything. Desperate, the two yuppies go on life of white-collar crime.

“Shut up And Kiss me”- A romantic comedy that focuses on an Upper East Side Gigolo.

Ruvin is currently pitching and developing a number of high-concept comedies for the film studios.

Talented Film Maker Ruvin Orbach has recently written a new Film Noir entitled “The Glass Cage.” The story is a classic Femme Fatale thriller set in Montecito, California. The story revolves around heiress Brooke Bailey who tries to set up her own detective for a murder. The story becomes a game of wits when the detective and the heiress slowly fall in love, but still try to pin the murder on each other.

Ruvin is currently crafting an Untitled political thriller about a Game Theorist who gets caught in a conspiracy. The feature is set in a think-tank that create games for military strategy. An evil weapons company suddenly hunts the Game Theorist.

Ruvin is also developing a thriller set in the oil business. The tale revolves around an oil trader and a group of Nigerian rebels who set off an international oil crisis.

Ruvin Orbach is one of Hollywood’s up and coming multi-talented artists. As a writer and director, he’s not only able to create the stories, but he’s able to bring them to life as well.

Ruvin started his career with a small drama entitled "Lucky Man." It starred Frank Vincent ( Good Fellas, Sopranos ) and Vincent Pastore ( "Big Pussy" on Sopranos ). The film was featured at Montreal, Avignon and the Hampton’s film festivals. Brian De Palma saw the film in Montreal and Oliver Stone saw it independently and wrote, “Keep going in the direction you are going.” The film has received good press: Newsday called it a "Passion play" and Montreal Gazette wrote, "This drama of obsession and redemption is a killer." The film has been sold for U.S distribution.

Ruvin went onto sign three development writer-director deals. One with the Wu-Tang Clan: a drama about twenty years of Italian and African-American culture in Brooklyn. He later signed a deal on a romantic comedy set in Greenwich Village entitled "Great Sex.” He also signed a deal with FilmStar on a comedy called "How to Catch a Gangster." There was a press conference at the American Film Market and several national press outlets were in attendance.

Recently Ruvin penned a Femme Fatale Noir Thriller entitled "The Glass Cage" that is currently being set up with Ruvin directing. Ruvin is directing a comedy feature entitled "Big Man" in the Early Spring of 2008 with Paul Provenza ( “Aristocrats” ) Executive-Producing. He is writing a political thriller entitled "Game Theory" about a game theorist in a New York City think tank who gets embroiled in a conspiracy. He recently directed two documentary style pilots for television that are currently being cut.
